Hi! I’m Cecilia. Welcome to my site. 

I started making crafty things when I was a young teen. When I babysat for neighbors, working on projects was my way of staying awake. I would take my earnings and head to the local craft store in search of treasures. I started with stringing tiny seed beads to make a necklace. Before long, I crafted new ornaments by hand for our Christmas tree using different materials - felt, dough, fabric, boutique, plastic canvas, cross-stitch, and so on. 

At 15, I made a Christmas stocking pattern for my two sisters and three brothers. We spent a whole day designing our individual stockings. We still have them today although I have borrowed them back from time to time for repairs and upgrades. Later, when my nieces and nephews came along, I used that same pattern to make their stockings. 

I continued to grow as an artisan by taking courses, reading books, watching videos and, of course, by trial and error. With each new learning, came more and more ideas! 

My wildest idea exploded in June 2018 – I would make a quilt for each of my family members -- that's 16 quilts -- by Christmas! I had so much fun deciding on a theme for each quilt and searching out the perfect fabric. I made my lists, organized my fabric, and began cutting. If I made 4 quilts a month, I’d finish in plenty of time to enjoy the holidays. My timetable was shattered for August and September when my Mom had surgery and rehab. I love a challenge, so I pushed forward! I finished one day before my family’s Christmas celebration! Some of the quilt themes are golf, beach, Williamsburg garden, CrossFit, fish, hummingbirds, Harry Potter, chocolate chip cookies, Christmas, soccer, Care Bears, superhero, purple, and butterflies. For my Mom, I downsized a quilt my sisters and I made for her in 1979. My niece's quilt was an enlargement of her baby quilt that I started in the 1990’s but never finished. More heirlooms created.

This website and all its treasures seem like the next step for me. I had picked the name long ago. The "Crystal" comes from all the Swarovski Crystals I've used over the years. I like sparkly things! The "Cat" comes from my cat, Ellie, who is an inspiration to me every day. She had quite a tragic life before she joined our family, but she's living the life now. The "Creations" comes from the fact that I love to create new things using the ideas that are constantly popping into my head. 

This dream of sharing my creations came into focus in April and is now a reality. I’m nervous but excited to let my imagination soar. I'm lucky to have the support of wonderful family and friends--my sisters for keeping me sane, my brother-in-law for finding a domain for me, my brother for the wisdom of owning a business, my friend who drew my "Crystal Cat," my nephew who helped with the videos, my niece who modeled my jewelry, my lawyer, my accountant, and all the government staff who answered all of my “dumb” questions! I appreciate you all!
